Annual Festival

General Information

The Indian Summer Festival is always held the first weekend in October, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.  Arts, crafts and all day entertainment for everyone.  The Festival is a project of the Woody Gap Sports Club, a non-profit organization and all proceeds go to the Woody Gap School.

Location:  The Festival is held directly behind the Woody Gap School, on Hwy 60, Suches, GA.  This is an out-door show so be prepared for the weather.  The grounds that the Festival is held on are very level and grassy.

Eligibility:  Spaces are open to all artists and craftspeople, amateur and professional.  Guaranteed to have a good time, weather permitting.  No flea market or yard sale items are to be displayed, no pets are allowed, and no campers will be allowed at the exhibit spaces.  We will appreciate your cooperation.

You must list all crafts and types of items to be sold on the application and stick to the list at the Festival.  We have a long has a list of restrictions on types of crafts that can be represented.  For example, all food items are controlled to protect the Sport’s Club barbecue booth and the teachers hamburger/hotdog stand.  Similarly we do not permit sales of some items specific to Suches; namely Suches baseball caps and Indian Summer Festival T-shirts, other than by long term Festival participants.  We do not want to flood the market.  Many other crafts and activities have restrictions on the number of booths permitted.  Our aim is to provide our guests (and YOUR CUSTOMERS) the greatest variety of offerings without unduly stifling competition.  Your understanding and cooperation in this matter is appreciated.

Spaces:  The booth spaces are 15’ X 15’.  Electricity is available if needed for an additional fee.  To assure you have a space you must include your fee with the registration form by the deadline date.  Note:  There is the possibility of restrooms being available on the field.

Fees and Deadlines:  ALL REGISTRATION FORMS AND FEES ARE DUE NO LATER THAN SEPTEMBER 1ST.  After September 1st there will be an additional $5.00 late fee.  Booth space fee’s are $60.00 per space and an additional $5.00 for electricity, if needed.  These fees are non-refundable.

Conditions:  The Woody Gap Sports Club is a non-profit organization and assumes no responsibility for loss or damage to work from any cause whatsoever.

Hours:  The Festival hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. both days.  You are expected to be in your space by 8:30 a.m. on Saturday however, on Sunday if you wish to attend Church you may open your booth at your convenience.  In order to protect the safety of guests and customers we request that you not drive on the field during Festival hours.

Check-In Time:  You may check-in on Friday afternoon or from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. on Saturday.

Admission:  Admission is $4.00, students $3.00 and 6 and under free.  Admission will be taken both days, proceeds  go back into the school. 

Dance:  There will be a Dance on Saturday night in the school gym.  Admission is $7.00 at the door and $6.00 in advance, proceeds from the Dance go into the Woody Gap Scholarship Fund, for the graduating Seniors.

Festival will provide:  1)     Free coffee from 8:00 to 9:00 a.m., both days.  This is for our exhibitors, and will be self-served from the concession area.

2. All day fun, food, and entertainment.
3. Restrooms.

Your displays may be left over-night at your own risk.  We do have security staying over-night, however we cannot be responsible for your display.  YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR KEEPING YOUR SPACE CLEAN OF TRASH, THERE WILL BE A TRASH CAN LINER AT YOUR SPACE ON SATURDAY A.M. ONLY
